Defence Requires Different Thinking

Today, different thinking is needed to deliver the required defence and security effect. Northrop Grumman is at the forefront of providing that different thinking: from creating dynamic communications nodes in the sky, using lasers to defeat ground-to-air threats and putting leading innovative aircraft radar technologies into ground-based air defence systems and taking unmanned air systems to unparalleled levels with the world's first carrier-borne UCAV.

With our focus on cyber, C4ISR, unmanned systems, and logistics and modernisation, we meet the evolving capability requirements of our customers.

AARGM

Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) is a supersonic, medium-range, air-launched tactical missile designed to engage and destroy enemy air defenses and time-critical, mobile targets. AARGM is integrated in the German and Italian Air Force’s Tornado Electronic Combat and Reconnaissance aircraft.

Northrop Grumman’s next generation AARGM Extended Range (AARGM-ER) program, for the U.S. Navy, is building upon AARGM, and currently in production.

F-35 Lightning II

More than any aircraft that has gone before, the game-changing F-35 Lightning II is designed to be a node in the combat environment. The halo of connectivity that it provides ensures its ISTAR collector, strike, and ground support capabilities are second to none.

As a principal partner for the F-35 not only do we provide much of the aircraft’s situational awareness, but also through our provision of the aircraft’s communications and battlespace networks capability, no-one is better placed to integrate F-35 into the battlespace. Integrated Battle Command System

Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) connects sensors and effectors never designed to work together into one command and control system.

The Polish government selected IBCS to serve as the centerpiece for their WISLA medium range air and missile defense program.

IBCS will provide transformational, leap-ahead capabilities for Poland’s air and missile defense, while enhancing interoperability with Allies and NATO.
