Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Business Development Director 1 to support MCS OU captures to join our team.
This position can be located at any the following campuses:
- Aurora, CO
- Colorado Springs CO
- Redondo Beach CA; or
- Linthicum MD
The ideal candidate will report to the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) Director of Strategy and Business Development (S&BD) within the Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) of NGSP. The primary responsibility is to lead the business development team in the creation and execution of comprehensive strategies to create new business opportunities and produce compelling capture approaches across both new program starts and development & expansion for existing programs. Other responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
- Broad, strategic thinking with respect to emerging customer needs, competitive positioning, requisite capabilities, and the tactical moves necessary to enable the company to capture opportunity in the market
- Develop and execute growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, establishing pursuit priorities, gaining and growing customer intimacy, and developing successful capture plans
- Develop and implement strategies for identifying and maturing initial capture targets, market/mission expansion, and effectively marketing the business unit’s products and capabilities to meet customer needs
- Develop, assess and cultivate new opportunities and develop and mature contact plans with customer organizations and influencers
- Developing/delivering customer, partner and executive-level briefings
- Translate business opportunities into strategic win themes, create technical roadmaps, and support capture teams and proposal development
- Work and collaborate with a team of business developers, INS leadership, and other integrated stakeholders to implement win strategies compliant with Northrop Grumman’s business acquisition process.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in technical area
- Must have a current and active Top Secret and SCI security clearance at the time of application
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in DoD markets
- An understanding of U.S. Government customer requirements, acquisition processes, and organizations.
- Candidate should have proven experience in the establishment of new customer relationships with the objective of identifying customer needs and technology roadmaps to establish new opportunities for market/business expansion
- Experience with ground system development for space-related applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in STEM, or MBA Degree
- A minimum of 20 years’ experience in DoD markets
- Experience with ground system development for mission management, mission control, command & control and battle management command and control
- Experience in U.S. Government customer requirements development, program management, and acquisition
- Significant experience developing and executing capture strategies to win greater than $100M new business with the Intelligence Communities, DOD and Civil agencies.
- Proven track record of business growth with the DoD and Space Intelligence Community programs across a broad range of customer
- Experience leading and managing multi-disciplined team
