Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the SEC reporting team. This high visibility team is part of the Controller's organization and is responsible for leading the quarterly SEC Financial Reporting process as well as the maintenance of the Company's Financial Consolidation reporting system. Financial Analyst of SEC Reporting will report to the Manager of SEC Reporting.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS include the following.
• Prepare information used for external reporting (Earnings Release, 10-Q, 10-K), including the preparation of XBRL tagging
• Collaborate with sector financial reporting teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and continuous improvement of the financial close process
• Support manager(s) with ad hoc requests, including opportunities for cross functional collaboration within the organization
• Provide financial accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, and realignments, as assigned.
• Monitor existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements, assessing the applicability to Northrop
• Prepare and submit certain quarterly and annual census reports and surveys
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and diction
• Strong research and analysis skills; able to clearly and concisely summarize impact of SEC reporting or financial accounting
requirements on Northrop

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Level 3
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 6 years of relevant work experience
• Master’s degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience, master’s degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of
experience
• Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant
experience
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Level 4
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 10 years of relevant work experience
• Master’s degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience, master’s degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of
experience
• Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant
experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Certified public accountant
• Public accounting, reporting, and/ or auditing experience
• Prior experience in the aerospace & defense industry
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
