If so, our Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Manager, Business Management 2 for the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions (LFS) Operating Unit (OU). This position will be located at a major DS location: Huntsville, Linthicum, Utah (Roy), Bellevue NE, Warner Robins or Lake Charles.
This position reports to the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions (LFS) Operating Unit (OU) Manager of Business Management.
You will partner with the Program Managers for selected programs to manage all financial aspects to achieve the financial and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for developing the long-range strategic plan of certain programs and annual operating plan. You will promote the professional development of the business management workforce and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
You will lead a business management team, responsibility to orchestrate all business management functions including contracts, pricing, proposal development, program planning & financial control, financial planning, program scheduling, direct and indirect rate management, etc. You will use your broad experience in financial planning and analysis, program finance, variance analysis, and strategic planning.
You will oversee forecasting, work authorization, EACs/ETCs, CFSRs, financial reporting, cash modeling, etc.
You will be responsible for the daily operations of a team (direct supervision of the staff to include job requirements / schedules and provide direction to subordinates using established policies and procedures).
You will maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics. The position may require some travel.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the business management activities within a dynamic portfolio of programs.
- Manage and assist with day-to-day operations; coach and mentor the team; help to set and manage priorities.
- Provide direct supervision activities, including completion of performance goals and reviews, assigning work scope to employees, reviewing and approving timecards, and ensuring employees operate according to company policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with Customers. Gain full understanding of the customer’s needs and ensure timely delivery of quality data and reports.
- Collaborate with the Program, Project, and Pricing teams to develop proposals, including RFP reviews, pricing strategy recommendations, and contract negotiations.
- In coordination with the Program Manager, develop Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plans (LRSP).
- Perform cost and schedule risk assessments to assist program in identifying risk and establishing risk mitigation plans.
- Prepare and/or review estimates-at-complete (EAC) and integrated master schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reports, cost forecasts, and variance explanations.
- Consolidate and analyze Program and Corporate financial reports and forecasts.
- Develop, forecast, and manage applicable indirect rates and budgets.
- Develop, review, and analyze cash flow forecasts.
- Support Program Management Reviews (internal and external).
- Collaborate with the Program to complete and deliver CFSR.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business with a minimum of 6 years applicable experience or a Master’s degree and 4 years of experience. Four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Technical skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting
- Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, financial accounting systems (advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel (incl. vlookups, xlookups, PowerPivot, charts, formulas, tables, conditional formatting, if/then functions, pivot tables, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent, 1+ years of management experience
- Prior experience with program budgeting and forecasting, as well as Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to obtain a Secret-security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP, MS Project
- In-depth knowledge of DOD financial business models.
- Complete understanding of contract types and terminology.
- Earned Value Management experience, including MPM or Cobra software systems
- Full working knowledge of Financial Planning to include Annual Operating Plan development
- Understanding of DoD contracts, government Cost Accounting Standards, Commercial contracts, and the FAR

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
