Northrop Grumman’s Employee Communications team seeks a creative Principal Employee Communications Representative who is confident in being a strategic advisor, thrives on the challenge of informing and inspiring employees around business priorities and culture, loves to story tell and constantly seeks to improve through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment.
This position reports to the Employee Communications manager for Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector, and can be located at our Palmdale, CA, Melbourne, FL, or Clearfield, UT sites.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position is Hybrid with some time working from a Northrop Grumman facility and sometime allowed for telework.
In this job, you’ll:
Inform and inspire employees and drive business priorities within the company’s Aeronautics Systems sector while ensuring alignment with enterprise business and communications priorities.
Develop, implement and measure employee, executive, culture and change communications plans and tactics.
Be a storyteller: Conceptualize, procure and produce a diverse array of inspirational content about our people, technologies, successes and business capabilities. Content will range from articles and videos, to interviews, Q&As, brief/catchy lists, infographics, and photo/caption features.
Support event content and logistics.
Write, edit, distribute and measure strategic and timely business announcements, news items, digital content, articles and videos.
Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to executive leaders. Develop and measure leaders’ announcements, talking points, speeches, video scripts and speaker prep memos.
Partner with other communications teams across the enterprise to amplify messaging and ensure alignment
Support maintenance of the sector’s internal websites and digital signage monitors.
Ensure all communications plans and tactics are consistent with the company’s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand.

Have event planning experience.
Have a demonstrated understanding of modern communications topics, tools and trends.
Are creative and tech-savvy, and willing to challenge the status quo to propose and pilot new, creative solutions, tools and technologies using strategic rationale and business need to build your case.
Love data – and using analytics to not only measure your success, but to modify your approach and drive positive change.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree in prior fields and 3 years of experience.
Experience in employee or executive communications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Associated Press Style. · Familiarity with interpreting MarCom data analytics.
Experience producing omni-channel editorial content for a newspaper, news channel, video, magazine or other venue.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
