Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer (Hardware Network) OR Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Network) to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
This candidate will be responsible for integrating and testing software and hardware systems in complex IT systems.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.
- Collaborate with engineers to Install, troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.
- Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.
- Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation
- Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
This position can be filled at either the Electronics Engineer (Hardware Network) level or Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Network) level, depending upon the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer (Hardware Network):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.
- Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
- Experience utilizing Linux command line and Linux-based tools
- Experience deploying, configuring, hardening, and maintaining network routing and switching devices
- Familiarity with network security devices (Firewalls, IDS, IPS)
- Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.
- Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
- Experience utilizing Linux command line and Linux-based tools
- Experience deploying, configuring, hardening, and maintaining network routing and switching devices
- Familiarity with network security devices (Firewalls, IDS, IPS)
- Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
- Current Special Program Access
- Experience with network information & event management systems (ISE, Solarwinds, LibreNMS)
- Experience with software defined networking technologies (NSX)
- Experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, etc.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Container networking
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Familiarity with version control, GIT experience preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
