Northrop Grumman has established an Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Product Line within the C4MD Business Unit to capitalize on growth in the deployment of IBCS to the US Government and international partners. To facilitate execution of the IBCS Product Line and growth of the associated business areas and programs, the Product Line is seeking a Product Line Engineering Lead, who will be a senior-level engineer, authorized to drive Product Line (PL) decision making framework processes that support IBCS Product Line execution to achieve business objectives.
The IBCS Product Line Engineering Lead will lead and execute IBCS Product Line digital engineering technology strategies, to include managing processes, procedures and documentation used for control over digital artifacts to ensure consistency with GBMR Engineering strategies and objectives to meet Program’s business objectives. The IBCS Product Line Engineering Lead will manage Product Line initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional teams, to implement Product Line objectives aligned to organizational goals.
This position is responsible for coordinating tools integration, understanding the strengths and limitations of Product Line tools and how these tools bridge the various execution disciplines to efficiently achieve Product Line objectives. As a senior-level engineer, the IBCS Product Line Engineering Lead will provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to Product Line teams, to foster innovation and best practices. Additionally, the IBCS Product Line Engineering Lead will advise the Product Line Director on strategies to communicate progress to external & internal stakeholders.
The IBCS Product Line Engineering Lead, as a key member of the organization, will be responsible for identifying and reporting Product Line execution risks and opportunities related to the Product Line strategy, structure and staff. The Product Line Engineering Lead will work closely with the Chief Engineer, Chief Architect and Execution Leads, to synchronize the IBCS Product Line and Franchise Capture Teams and will drive and champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, tools, and methodologies within the PL and Captures. The IBCS Product Line Engineering Lead will report functionally to the IBCS OU Engineering Department Manager and will take technical direction from the Product Line Director.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of engineering experience OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 10 years
• Five (5) years of experience working in a Product Line
• Two-years of experience with executing Model Driven Engineering practices, processes and tools, to ensure focus and synergy across PL Software, Systems and Design Engineering
• Five (5) years of experience leading and championing new and transformational initiatives
• Effective communicator, of complex concepts, to various technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Five (5) years of experience providing technical team mentorship, and guidance to foster innovation and best practices
• Five (5) years of experience of effective team building and leading large technical teams
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience coordinating and integration PL tools and processes, for product line execution
• Experience promoting and enforcing standards, principles, and policies within mid-to-large sized teams
• Five (5) years of experience using PLM tools and software to communicate with multidisciplinary team members, through all product lifecycle phases
• Active Secret clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
