Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a DevSecOps Engineer/Principal DevSecOps Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected DevSecOps Engineer/Principal DevSecOps Engineer will provide support for the MASC-F (Modeling and Simulation – Framework) program. The selected candidate will work with the Agile Development Teams/Security/System Administration to create and advance solutions for DevSecOps.
Essential Functions:
- Work on systems administration related issues with hardware and software for different network environments.
- Propose system administration process improvement to reduce overall maintenance requirements by working with the design team and manufacturers.
- Determine systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system configuration.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
- Develop and recommend corrective actions.
- May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled at either a DevSecOps Engineer or a Principal DevSecOps Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for a DevSecOps Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience.
- Previous DevOps experience or software focus in automation.
- Experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Windows Server and Workstation.
- Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment.
- Understanding of System Scripting (bash, Python, PowerShell, batch, etc.)
- Understanding of writing and maintaining CI/CD Pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo).
- Experience providing technical support, training, and guidance to program personnel on DevSecOps tools and software development lifecycle (tools such as GitLab, Nexus and CI tools)
- Experience with Docker and/or Containerization.
- Troubleshooting skills and experience with Linux and/or Windows environments.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and/or Platform Engineering
- Knowledge in controlling third party software (COTS, GOTS, and FOSS) to ensure efficient storage and reusability across the program.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills
- Basic skills with version control tools such as Git.
- Full time onsite.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application and is required to start.

- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 years of experience.
- Previous DevOps experience or software focus in automation.
- Experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Windows Server and Workstation.
- Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment.
- Understanding of System Scripting (bash, Python, PowerShell, batch, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile Process Tools (VersionOne, Atlassian Tools JIRA, etc.)
- Experience developing maintainable Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, chef/puppet, etc.)
- Experience with GitOps infrastructure automation process
- Ability to support multiple release project schedules simultaneously
- Understanding of Test automation and how to implement in a pipeline approach
- Experience with static analysis tools and integrating into a pipeline (Fortify, Coverity, SonarQube, etc.)
- Understanding of containerization – experience with Kubernetes and/or helm charts
- Infrastructure implementation of virtualized hosts in VMWare.
- Basic network understanding and diagnostics
- Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- System Administrator skills highly desired
- A current active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
