Northrop Grumman’s Defense Sector is looking for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Ridgecrest California location to help us keep building on our wide portfolio of secure, affordable, integrated, and multi-domain systems and technologies that fuel those missions.

This individual will support the AARGM program. The AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile) is a supersonic, air- launched tactical missile system. AARGM is the most advanced system for pilots against today’s modern surface-to-air threats. It can rapidly engage land- and sea-based air-defense threats, as well as striking, time-sensitive targets.
This position will be 100% full time on site at our Ridgecrest, Ca location. Relocation may be available but not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Other duties may include:
- Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
- Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
- Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science with 0 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operation.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical)
- Composites knowledge (i.e. hand layup, automated layup, cure experience, and/or machining experience)
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Functional knowledge of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing work procedures
- Able to utilize Catia V5 and/or NX
- Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
