Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our growing team. The Mission Assurance team monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure the mission success of the program and works with the various teams to promote continuous MRB reduction and process improvements are implemented. In addition, we assess program performance and risks to contractual requirements and help to determine resources and activities to ensure compliance.

This role may be filled as a Mission Assurance Engineer or Principal Mission Assurance Engineer.
Mission Assurance Engineer
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement program quality inspection plans
- Work with the Engineering team to ensure that part requirements are correctly described and documented in the production work plans.
- Preparation of first article inspection packages for internal approval or presentation to the final customer.
- Processing of MRB nonconformances
- Supports the Program, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams with data analytics for improvement processes.
- Conduct or support internal audits, process observations, and area assessments.
- Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineer Mission Assurance
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and ability to obtain and maintain special program access
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 2+ years of Quality and or Mission Assurance work experience; OR a master’s degree
- Experience conveying technical information (both written and verbal)
- Experience with M.S. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior aircraft manufacturing experience
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings
- Knowledge of data analysis methods and tools.
- Background in Composites
- Program Access (SAP)
Principal Mission Assurance Engineer
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable with Northrop Grumman internal systems; Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Office.
- Develop and implement program quality inspection plans
- Process and adhere to AS9100 requirements
- Manages the control of nonconforming material (bonding/releasing). Maintains physical inventory of nonconforming product in a bonded setting. Responsible for accurate nonconformance documentation review and approval meeting customer and sector requirements. Ensures retention and retrieval of MRB records.
- Provides guidance to Inspection, Preliminary Review and Liaison Engineering. Mentors personnel in the process and recommends MRB membership when applicable.
- Work with the Engineering team to ensure that part requirements are correctly described and documented in the production work plans.
- Participate with corrective action or improvement teams and promote the use of data to assist in the improvement effort.
- Preparation of first article inspection packages for internal approval or presentation to the final customer.
- Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Basic Qualifications

- Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles
- Knowledge of data analysis methods and tools.
