Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Staff Systems Engineering Technical Lead to join its team of diverse professionals in support of the Sentinel (GBSD) program's Guidance, Navigation, & Control (GN&C) Integrated Product Team. This technical leader will providing technical guidance and leadership coordination across more than 20 GN&C suppliers, working side-by-side with subcontractor technical teams. This role will also include providing GN&C leadership with insight into technical issues and help identify potential solutions.
This role is located in Roy, Utah and may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You Will Get to Do:
- Work directly with GN&C suppliers responsible for flight computer, navigation sensors, control actuation, and power distribution, and provide technical support as they prepare for their CDR campaigns
- Apply a strong understanding of System Engineering processes and work to ensure subcontractor's compliance
- Lead efforts to perform technical analyses supporting Root Cause Corrective Actions, Trade Studies, and identification of Risks and Issues
- Participate as technical expert in negotiations of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions
- Drive the development and assessment of product definitions, entrance and exit criteria, CDR readiness, product baseline maturity buildup and maturation plans, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of related experience; 12 years with a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline; 10 years with a PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, at time of application, with an investigation completed within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 6 years of experience with military electronics and system interfaces
- 3 years of systems engineering leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
- Master's degree in engineering, Science Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) or related discipline
- Strong understanding of systems engineering best practices
- Experience working with suppliers/subcontractors including developing SOWs and other contractual documents
- Experience as a Technical Leader
- Experience with working with government/military personnel at government/military facilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; intermediate to expert in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
