Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Software – JEMINI Integration SME to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
This position is a fast-pace, dynamic environment near Colorado Springs at Schriever Space Force Base supporting GAITS, Integration team. Integrate JEMINI Lab test suites in our development lab.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshooting: Proficient in troubleshooting methods
- Virtualized Environments: Working knowledge and software testing experience
- System Integration: Experience in the integration of system components within a test environment
- Security Design: Familiarity with virtualized systems and security design and implementation
- Customer Interaction: Frequent internal and external customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects
- Expertise: Demonstrates a wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field
- Problem Solving: Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions
- Direction and Review: Works under general direction, with results reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master’s STEM degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience instead of a degree may be considered
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND) is required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Experienced Software Tester/Integrator
- Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and automated test tools
- Strong skills in Linux and scripting (bash, python)
- Automation and Implementation understanding
- Assist software development personnel with the investigation and resolution of issues
- Develop configurations to support test and prototypes of developing systems
- Create and modify scripts to perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data
- Troubleshoot both test and prototype issues
- Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents
- Review and provide feedback on system specifications, development, test, and network documents as necessary
- Represent the Integration team
- Automated scripting to configure and maintain remote hosts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and active in-scope DoD-Issued Top Secret clearance is highly desired
- Experience developing scripts in Ansible
- Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments
- Experience with Windows Server and PowerShell scripting
- Experience setting up, configuring, and maintaining databases
- Experience in Agile work environments and familiarity with the Product Owner Role
