Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking Systems Engineers to join the Command and Control, Communication and Computer Missile Defense (C4MD) Business Unit in support of our programs, in Huntsville, AL. This position may place candidates on various teams within C4MD (programs like IBCS, NAREW, IFC, FAAD C2, and/or IRADs).
As a Principal Engineer Systems, you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Perform analysis at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications
- Principal Engineer Systems: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
- Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw
- Proven ability to comprehend/develop/decompose System Architecture and System Requirements (from System Specifications high-level requirements to the lowest level) in a model-based environment
- Experience with Requirements Impact Assessments, Change Requests, and Engineering Change Proposals
- Proven ability to understand software systems interface documentation, interconnect diagrams, military standards
- Active Secret Clearance required to start
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical experience with IAMD: C2 with understanding of weapons, sensors, distributed computing and these systems' impact on a command-and-control system's architecture, requirements, and interfaces for communications between these systems
- Systems Engineering Experience in an Agile environment
- Experience with Jira
- Link-16 Experience
- Familiarity with weapon systems and sensors such as: PATRIOT, Sentinel, G/ATOR, etc.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
