Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Staff Systems Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
- The development and execution of flight test campaigns and associated processes
- Assist in generating flight test procedures at the system level and establish test requirements for tracking
- Collaborate with responsible engineers, pilots, and test operations team to develop flight test cards
- Coordinate and communicate daily tests actives
- Ensure the test vehicle is properly configured to meet test objectives
- Provide test execution support making real-time decisions regarding test safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Participate in post-test data evaluation and discrepancy resolution.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have 12 Years relevant experience with Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline; 10 Years relevant experience with Masters in STEM discipline; 8 Years relevant experience with PhD in STEM discipline.
- Must have current Active DoD Top-Secret clearance
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to start is required.
- Role demands overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work to occasionally be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In depth knowledge of or experience in flight test, to include mission control room operations.
- Knowledgeable on basic aircraft flight essential systems
- Experience with flight science testing.
- Familiar with Interactive Analysis and Display System (IADS)
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
