Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and will support an IRAD program for a physics-based simulation environment focused on satellite operations.
What you’ll get to do:
- Develop space system architecture models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Derive, allocate, update, and maintain requirements and specifications
- Research other modeling and simulation (M&S) systems to define a future integration solution
- Define high-level ConOps that provide a representation of a future integration solution
- Support cost estimation to perform future integration solutions
- Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, development, test, operation, and maintenance
- Maintain design documentation
- Work with orbital dynamics; guidance
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in STEM with 8 years experience
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and processes
- Basic understanding of at least one of: Software, Cyber, or Computer Infrastructure design and engineering
- MBSE experience, preferably in Cameo, defining software systems architecture and design
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; software engineers, orbital analysts, and test engineers
- Must have U.S. Citizenship with current or active Top Secret Clearance at the time of application with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current or active Top-Secret clearance with Special Access Program
- Experience/knowledge of test design and automation
- Prior experience with Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO), Satellite Ground Station Software, Distributed M&S, and/or wargaming
- Experience in deriving, allocating, updating, and maintaining requirements
- Experience in deriving, allocating, updating, and maintaining requirements
- Experience in ConOps development
- Experience in Python
- Experience in Agile Development
- Experience working in an Agile Team
- Experience performing systems analysis and design of
- Agile/SAFe Features/Epics based on Capability Decomposition
- Experience with designing, integrating, or operating Simulation and/or Training Software
