Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer Architect who will join our team of qualified, diverse engineers. This position is located on-site at our Melbourne, FL location.
This Systems Engineer will be a member of the RT&E Team in the MAS COE. The team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to design, develop, produce and sustain product lines across the IPT while providing a decisive advantage to our customer’s missions.
This Systems Engineer will maintain a smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. The SE will Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. They will make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates the installation / integration of the equipment and provides backup recovery. Will develop and monitor policies and standards for allocations related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
The candidates will be capable of (but not limited to) the following tasks:
- Deploy/test monthly patch updates to Window machines
- Deploy, manage, maintain, and support Microsoft Window servers and workstations
- Create and configure VMs with VMWare vSphere
- Create user accounts and administer user privileges within active directory
- Deploy/test monthly patch updates (rpms) to RHEL servers
- Assist with implementation of automated processes or functions to improve daily operations as directed
- Assist with implementation of technical security technology and IT projects
- Manage/Deploy AV server and client products
- Integrate updated management/monitoring tools
- Collaborate in authoring system documentation and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of Engineering experience, or 3 years engineering experience with a Master of Science Degree in a STEM discipline, or 1 year of engineering experience with a PhD in a STEM discipline.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Redhat/Linux Systems Administration Experience
