Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 1 to become part of the Engineering Management team at the Warner Robins, Ga location. As a Systems Engineering Manager 1, you will play a crucial role in managing an on-site team providing engineering support for multiple programs.
Essential Functions:
. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Perform 90% coverage in a technical role and 10% coverage performing the duties associated with this position
Leading a team of direct reports and performing functional manager roles such as staffing, recruiting, timecard approval, and performance reviews
Maintain high levels of engagement among team members and support their career development
Provide technical leadership and guidance by engaging with the team in a daily collaborative style and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Interacting with internal program leadership and customers on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations
Providing guidance and oversight to employees
Focusing on customer satisfaction, with proven leadership, excellent communication skills, and a background in change management
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience
Demonstrable understanding of Systems or Hardware Engineering processes, product, and life cycle.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to present clearly to senior leadership and customers.
Experience working in an Agile Development environment with Continuous Integration
Demonstrated technical lead for a team of 5 or more engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent.
9 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader.
Experience in electronic testing equipment and associated test platforms
Experience with product life cycle management, DMSMS, and sustainment.
Active Secret security clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
