Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer with electrical design experience for the Sentinel Re-entry Systems team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get to Do:
Duties primarily include: Evaluation of electronic designs, electrical analysis (eg SPICE), electrical and environmental testing, systems integration, system requirements development, and team leadership.
This position will include the opportunity to:
- Work tasking with minimal oversight
- Assist in all phases of the system life cycle (requirements application, design, test, fabrication, and implementation)
- Evaluate electrical hardware performance
- Perform model validation through test and analysis
- Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
- Create technical reports and present technical information
- Learn from and mentor team members
- Assistance in planning and scheduling activities
- Interface with Air Force Customer
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer Systems level (T03) or Sr Principal Engineer Systems level (T04).
Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree or 1 year of experience with a PhD.
Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 years of experience with a PhD.
Required for Both Levels:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Experience with Engineering Processes
- Experience with Electrical Design
- Experience with SPICE Circuit Analysis (or equivalent)
- Experience in Systems Engineering Position
- Experience with Requirements Management Tools (e.g. DOORS, CAMEO)
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (STEM)
- Excellent Technical Communication Skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to lead other engineers
- 5 or more years of ICBM/Aerospace/DOD experience

- Experience with VHDL/FPGA/ASIC Design

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
