Northrop Grumman is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Professional (EHS Engineer 3) to join our Corporate Environment, Health and Safety team. The primary role of this position will be to lead occupational health and safety efforts across the Corporate organization real estate portfolio.
This position will be located in our Falls Church, VA location.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Support Corporate offices and Flight Operations with required EHS programs, training and inspections to ensure compliance, injury prevention and risk mitigation.
Complete accident/incident investigations to help determine root cause and corrective actions.
Complete ergonomic evaluations.
Conduct management systems evaluations as part of internal EHS compliance audits.
Assist in review and interpretation of existing and proposed EHS regulations to determine applicability and impact on operations.
Administer company membership in occupational health and safety organizations and vendor subscriptions.
Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet EHS requirements.
Partner with business leaders to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability in support of EHS programs.
Support the company’s occupational health and safety programs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s (BS or BA) degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety compliance OR a Master of Science (MS) in the same disciplines with 3 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 9 years of relevant experience.
Experience in reviewing and analyzing federal, state, local and international health and safety regulations and developing appropriate compliance strategies.
Experience in conducting EHS regulatory compliance assurance assessments.
Experience with managing/overseeing third party consultants/contractors.
Ability to travel to various project locations in the United Sates and possibly international.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with supporting EHS programs for aviation/flight operations.
Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs.
Computer based skills specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau.
Ability to perform job duties with general direction and supervision and to provide technical solutions to complex problems based on sound health and safety principles.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
