Job Description:
You will perform scheduled maintenance and in-depth repair, as required, on aircraft ground support equipment. You will review maintenance records to ensure equipment is fully operational in support of daily equipment requirements. You will use an assortment of basic hand tools in addition to precision measuring devices. You will also work from complex written instructions such as aircraft specific support equipment troubleshooting/repair instructions, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manuals. May instruct lower-level mechanics in technical aspects of support equipment work. Exercise appropriate safety measures and abide by applicable shop policies and procedures.
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located OCONUS - Europe.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)and 4 years of F-35 ground support equipment maintenance experience.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas). Be physically active for long periods and use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects exceeding 50 pounds.
Willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant maintenance Type 1, 2, and 3 or Universal.
