Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated professional for the role of a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist with experiences in supply chain management, or related fields, to include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, or manufacturing. The successful applicant will become a part of Northrop Grumman’s Category Management Team (CMT) within the Mission Systems Sector, which is engaged throughout all aspects of the core technologies used within our major systems. The team is hybrid based out of San Diego, CA with team members spread all throughout the country supporting multiple NG sites.

Candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry.
Within the Category Management organization the candidate will support a team-based organization and perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including but not limited to strategic analysis, complex negotiations, materials planning, procurement execution/award, finance, and internal customer service. Ideal candidates are generally experienced in multiple areas of the procurement or contractual function(s), developing business relationships, and demonstrating an affinity for working with, or understanding both manufacturing and technology.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Source and procure goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers. Initiate Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receive same, analyze proposed pricing from potential suppliers. In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules. Work with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required. Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations. Issue purchase orders. Manage performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations. Employ sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded. Review and approves supplier payment as needed. Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications for Supply Chain Procurement Specialist:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 2 years with a Bachelors or a Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in supply chain management, or related fields, to include logistics, manufacturing/ project management, business management, or information systems.
- Experience within MS Office suite
- U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications for Supply Chain Procurement Specialist:
- Experience as a Team Lead in past projects or roles
- Experience in multi-tasking in a challenging environment.
- Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications
- SAP experience
- Experience with FAR/DFAR
