As a Supply Chain Planning Specialist – Level 3, located in Commerce, CA, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
This position requires you to be onsite full-time.
The Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist is responsible for representing Supply Chain within an IPT with Program Management, Operations, Quality and Engineering for the Commerce, CA facility within the Mission Enabling Products Business Unit in the Payload and Ground Division within the Space Systems sector.
Candidate will serve as liaison between supply chain and the site program management, planning, quality, engineering and operations. Review status of projects, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assess supply chain related Program issues and in conjunction with purchasing, develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Will be fully engaged with the GSC team and other cross-functional teams to develop and implement integrated system tools and processes within the BU.
In this job, you will:
Work under general supervision to represent supply chain onsite as the focal point for coordinating and communicating procurement and subcontractor supplier status
Represent supply chain in internal daily and escalation meetings IPT reviews on programs and site status, as pertaining to supply chain, including execution issues and any other items that may impact ability to deliver
Collaborates with internal functions, including Program, Operations, Quality and Engineering to ensure requirements are met in accordance with internal customer needs and to NG policies and procedures
Collaborate with buyers, supplier performance and supplier quality to understand systemic or major issues at suppliers that require coordination with site functions
Understanding of program deliverables, due dates and basic technical knowledge of the assigned programs
Utilizing standard processes and templates, assess and provide input on impact, risks and opportunities of Proposals
Participates in pre-award and post award kick-off’s and contract close outs
Challenge business impediments to excellence and continuous improvement and generate application of six sigma and lean principles and tools

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Business/Project Management or Logistics – OR – Master’s degree with 3+ years of professional experience. In lieu of a degree, 9 + years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Business/Project Management or Logistics may be considered
Team player with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to present status and actions to internal functions.
Solid understanding of supply chain processes and best practices
Demonstrated ability to think analytically and solve problems
Detail oriented, but able to understand the big picture
Demonstrated ability to develop strong, effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholder
High level of proficiency in MS Office suite and ERP systems/tools
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA and/or Supply Chain-related professional designation and experience in defense or aerospace systems
Experience in high program volume / low production rate environment
Demonstrated capability and success in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
Working knowledge of NGC Global Supply Chain, Business Development, and/ or Manufacturing/Operations.
