Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Systems Software Analyst (SSA) to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) Systems Software Analyst will plan, design, oversee and execute Virtual 3D (V3D) Map operations and provide V3D Map technical and functional support services to MCTP supported Army Warfighter Exercises (WFX).
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains V3D Map operations standards
- Develops and maintains V3D Map training operations for class instruction
- Implements partial V3D Map system life cycle, including hardware installation and maintenance, software installation, software patching, software configuration, administration and manual process optimization
- Performs operational analysis of V3D Map operations supporting each MCTP WFX to maintain and optimize a V3D Map system best suited to support MCTP WFX events to meet the customer’s specific requirements
- Analyzes hardware and software system capabilities against customer requirements and develops approaches using on-hand resources to fulfill those requirements pertaining to V3D Map
- Participates in developing logistics and personnel planning documents to fulfill MCTP Simulation Control Plans (SCP) requiring V3D Map
- Performs systems integration tests using simulation derived databases to V3D Map software and system
- Uses and/or develops command line operating system scripts and build software routines to improve and simplify repetitive technical functions and procedures
- Perform vulnerability and security scans on system hardware and software, as required, and report results to system software developers and information assurance/information security managers
- Tests and distributes V3D Map computer images required for MCTP exercises
- Ensures forward required V3D Map systems are in working order and ready to ship when required to support MCTP WFX events
- For WFX events, receives equipment, installs, configures, integrates, and administer V3D Map systems
- For WFX events, implements forward V3D Map system related technical support issues using rear-operations technical guidance
- For WFX events, functionally operates the V3D Map software to support MCTP WFX requirements
- Gather forward operations data and comments from MCTP senior leadership to identify shortfalls in the V3D Map software and furnish to rear-operations software maintenance staff
Basic Qualifications:
- One of the following:
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years V3D Map operations experience and 3 years Mission Command Staff experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of helpdesk, systems engineering, or systems administration experience and 3 years Mission Command Staff experience
- Master’s degree minimum of 0 years of helpdesk, systems engineering, or systems administration experience and 3 years Mission Command Staff experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating V3D Map at MCTP WFX events
- Fulfilled trainer or co-trainer roles for V3D Map training classes
- CompTIA Security+ CE required within 6 months of employment
- Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
- Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
- Must be able to travel as needed (up to 30% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
- System engineering or administration experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux
- Ability to diagnose RedHat Enterprise Linux errors to isolate and correct software configuration or compatibility issues
- CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, CEH certification
- Knowledge of and firsthand experience with Army Mission Command Staff operations
- Experience with Army Mission Command Systems such as Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Battle Command Common Services (BCCS). Tactical Server Infrastructure V1/V2 (TSI)
- MS Office suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, OneNote) operational proficiency
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
