Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Network Monitoring Technician to join our dynamic and diverse team environment in Des Moines, IA. The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring program network operations center, performing network administration, and providing help desk support.
Actual Job Location: 132 WG Air National Guard Base in Des Moines, Iowa
This position is contingent upon Award
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform network configuration for all program events.
- Initial account creation for all program mission networks.
- Monitoring the health of mission networks.
- Monitoring status of circuits.
- Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems.
- Assign, modify, and delete passwords and user privileges.
- Implement client workstations software patches, security fixes, and service releases.
- Provide first level of SIEM notification support.
- Provide Tier 1 help desk support.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year additional education and/or related experience.
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
- Experience providing help desk support
- Experience in basic Microsoft Windows system and user account administration
- Experience in basic network monitoring and identifying/mitigating potential network outages
- Must be able to become expert user of DIS Gateway Core and GUI, and expert understanding of connectivity between remote sites
- Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools
- Basic understanding of continuous monitoring methodologies and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and first phase analysis of security scans
- Basic understanding of DIS/HLA IP-based radio communication solutions, and commonly used simulation Image and Environment Generator applications
- Must be able to obtain Security + certification within 6 months of hire.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
