Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector Chief Information and Digital Office (CDIO) is seeking a novice to mid-career level MES Systems Software Analyst (Experience Level 2 or Level 3).
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Support Solumina G-Series (G8) to iSeries transition, including defining business processes and new software capability, implement and manage integration API elements using software configuration management practices
- Support Solumina CPMES (G8R2) End of Life activity including working with developer team to establish integration criteria, test plans and test results for the new system
- Analyze, enhance, install, test, and modify enterprise-wide software systems
- Develop requirements, workflow, and perform systems analysis
- Correct data errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities
- Establish standards for the development and maintenance of new and existing products
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, meet with team members and users to develop solutions
- Provide real time gathering of inputs from the manufacturing work centers, document and track each item to closure within the requirements of change control process
- This role is typically designed for data analytic responsibilities or minor system administration duties
- Responsible to prioritize work, perform work independently and within a team. Ability to receive guidance from senior technical teammates
- Represent the organization to other business groups, provide sound technical understanding and commit to performance within the margins of the system capabilities
- Must be able to share a rotating schedule for ‘on call’ support over nights, weekends, and holidays with other team members
This position will be primarily 100% virtual / work from home. However, this could change depending on business conditions.
This position may be filled at either level 2, or level 3, based on the below qualifications.
Basic Qualifications (for a Level 2):
To be considered minimally qualified for a level 2 position, you must meet the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must have either a Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 2 years of experience as a Software or Applications Analyst; OR must have a Master's Degree in a STEM related discipline with at least 3 months of experience as a Software or Applications Analyst
- Must have work experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software; prefer direct experience with Solumina or iBaseT applications
- Experience working under general supervision on User Tickets in order to solve technical problems of increasing complexity is required
Basic Qualifications (for a Level 3):
To be considered minimally qualified for a level 3 position, you must meet the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must have either a Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 5 years of experience as a Software or Applications Analyst; OR must have a Master's Degree in a STEM related discipline with 3 years of experience as a Software or Applications Analyst
- Must have 1 year of work experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) applications Solumina or iBaseT
- Experience working under minimal supervision on User Tickets in order to solve a wide range of technical problems in alignment with organizational objectives is required
- Must have knowledge of software verification processes and techniques, test reporting, regression testing, and test data analysis
- System integration experience is needed
- Experience analyzing and validating the performance and validity of interfaces and supporting system software to specified system requirements is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems, and 3 years of experience as a Software Analyst using the MES application tool 'Solumina'
- Experience with other MES tools such as FactoryTalk, DELMIA Apriso, MasterControl Manufacturing Excellence, LineWorks, and Proficy Smart Factory MES
- Experience with Database queries and Data mining using an intermediate level SQL
- Knowledge of programming (e.g. Python or JAVA) and Kubernetes framework
- Understanding of software INI, UDV, SQL libraries and familiarity with version control systems like Git/Bitbucket
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Deltek Costpoint)
- Basic understanding of configuration management, process flow and general manufacturing processing standards
- Familiar with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and best practices in server management
- Software verification processes and techniques, test reporting, regression testing, and test data analysis
- System integration experience
- Ability to analyze and validate the performance and validity of interfaces and supporting system software to specified system requirements
- Experience providing technical solutions consistent with organizational objectives and business processes
- Strong problem-solving skills; Strong communication skills

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
