Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Computer Operations Analyst– IPC O&M SME (25-012) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
Report to the INDO-PACOM (IPC) C2BMC O&M Site Lead and provide technical support as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all local hardware, software, and network issues for IPC C2BMC's 24/7 operations, testing, and Mission-Specific Vendor Plug-in (MSVP) training environments.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with hardware and software installations and upgrades for systems within the IPC Area of Responsibility (AOR)
- Collaborate in a team environment to handle multiple tasks, interface with IPC C2BMC warfighters and users, and provide second-level technical and on-site support for IPC-C2BMC assets
- Coordinate with the C2BMC Command Center (CCC) and its teams to resolve escalated issues
- Create and manage trouble tickets and work orders to document all C2BMC-related issues and requests
- Ensure audit readiness and maintain detailed documentation of technical work, system changes, and configuration updates
- Sustain all IPC C2BMC physical inventory, including spare parts and COMSEC devices, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation of inventory movements
- Perform declassification and disposition procedures for defective or end-of-life equipment
- Candidate must be a team player and self-starting problem solver with the ability to work effectively with military, civilian, and contractor personnel in potentially high-stress situations and with limited supervision
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to brief technical system/network issues and provide overall system reporting to the C2BMC Command Center (CCC)
- Familiarity with the operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems or networking environments (preferably C2BMC Systems)
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software components
- Travel to remote sites within the IPC AOR to provide C2BMC O&M support as required
- Perform other related duties and assignments as needed
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a related discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of related experience instead of a degree
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Primarily Monday through Friday; however, the candidate must be flexible and available for on-call, evening, and weekend support during system anomalies or tests. The candidate must also be able to provide support across multiple time zones
- Experience with system and/or network administration, including:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7+)
- UNIX
- Linux
- Windows OS
- Cisco
- Juniper systems
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere 6.0 or newer (e.g., VMware ESXi) and/or Windows Hyper-V
- Working knowledge and experience in user account management using Microsoft Active Directory
- Ability to understand and adhere to physical security protocols for open and closed storage of COMSEC materials
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining trouble tickets using the trouble ticketing management system
- Proficiency in scripting for Linux, UNIX, or Windows servers and workstations
- Strong understanding of two-factor authentication administration
- Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, configuring, and replacing encryption devices
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to thoroughly document technical work, system configurations, and processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency and/or C2BMC desired
- Experience with Space Force or working within the space domain desired
- Previous experience maintaining C2BMC systems and/or a background in Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS)
