Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Production Controller 2. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.
What you’ll get to do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
This position will serve as the focal point between Programs and Logistics.
This individual performs the function of managing Work in Progress (WIP) material for the programs by tracking submitted production orders and ensuring materials are properly delivered to the production line in accordance with the production schedules.
This individual also owns the responsibility of preparing materials for shipment, return to stores, and processing next higher assemblies.
This person also is the one closing out Work Orders on the shop floor in MES as work is completed.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
High school Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of additional education and or related experience
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Experience with SAP or similar ERP software for inventory management and tracking.
Experience with manufacturing workflow and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or similar.
Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move stock/inventory/materials around the manufacturing floor and various business units.
Ability to perform 50% desk work and 50% production floor integration responsibilities with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency to determine and set priorities to meet production schedules; re-establish priorities as schedule requirements dictate.
Very strong communication skills with ability to build customer relationships.
Strong time management skills and maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
High degree of creativity and ability to solve a wide range of problems independently
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
