Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Logistics Planner for our Intelligent Power Management System (IPMS) portfolio. The IPMS project is a NGDS joint venture with an outside partner involving the development of a highly innovative microturbine alternator power generation solution to meet emerging DoD operational energy needs. The Logistics Planner will provide material control and analysis with an emphasis on supply chain coordination and material receiving, inspection, warehousing, kitting, and shipping support.
The positions based at a facility in El Dorado Hills, California.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyze technical data, reports, and Bills of Materials to determine inventory quantities required to support production forecasts.
Consistently monitor inventory and material allocations for accuracy and minimum stock quantities.
Generate inventory reports on stock usage, and location changes.
Initiate material procurement and manage procurement processing.
Provide hands-on material processing from initial vendor receipt through final assembly.
Manage and control the asset location and allocation of Northrop Grumman and customer furnished inventories.
Maintains property accountability records.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED with at least 9 years of related experience; OR 5 plus years of experience with a bachelor's degree; OR 2 plus year of relevant experience with a master's degree
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficient in SAP for the following tasks:
Creating material requirements
Creating material requisitions
Processing GRs
Issue material
Good communication and analytical skills
Good organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present data and analysis results to leadership and teammates
Must be able to obtain and maintain an DoD Secret Security Clearance
Forklift certification
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Differentiating characteristics include demonstrated leadership, teamwork capabilities, excellent oral and written communications skills, and strong interpersonal communication skills at all levels of employees and management.
Have experience with military aircraft maintenance or logistics experience
Have a solid understanding of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) process and logistics modeling
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
