Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manger Tool Die Making 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Tooling organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.
The Manager Tool Die Making 2 will be responsible for managing AEO (Aircraft Equipment Expeditors) across multiple programs. They will develop technical automated tooling/AEO statement of work. The selected candidate will ensure that projects/designs are completed on schedule and within budget including management of their indirect budget. The selected candidate will ensure tooling/automation support of build/maintenance for production transition and sustained efforts. In addition, the selected candidate will establish, maintain, and improves processes/procedures to support program efforts by collaborating with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management, which will include the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a group of 10 to 15 hourly non-exempt employees and/or level 1 mangers
- Manage and coordinate tool activities with other programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed
- Own responsibility for program and technical performance while providing objective-oriented direction to hard lined or dotted line reporting personnel, utilizing management guidelines & general policies.
- Monitor and manage risk items to ensure mitigating actions are effective and timely
- Promote Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives as well as sharing of lessons learned and best practices throughout the organization
- Manage the following: personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development, and utilization of EVMS to manage direct costs

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling/tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration and/or fabrication industries/experience
- Must have 2 year of prior management/leadership experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access
- Must be available to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (STEM)
- Special Program Access
- Experience working with CribMaster or similar
- Previous Supervisory and Management experience in managing large projects, with an emphasis on tooling, manufacturing, assembly lines, and implementing technology into a production environment
- Aerospace or Aviation Industry experience managing tool fabrication organizations & tool fabrication shops, & material procurement
- Candidates should have strong Project Management, Microsoft Office tools, Communication, and Presentation Skills
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
