Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Manufacturing Operations organization is looking for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 to oversee Manufacturing Assembly in the Sykesville, Maryland facility. The Manager General Manufacturing 1 will have organizational responsibility for up to 25 employees including assemblers and senior assemblers. The primary mission is to meet or exceed customer requirements by providing quality products on time and within program cost targets, while promoting a lean manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing leadership direction in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital & Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, ISO9001and all auditable processes.
Providing direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
Driving employee efficiency.
Meeting product cost and schedule targets.
Manage to Basic Indirect, NCTA, and capital budgets.
Managing the area to produce quality products.
Attract, retain and develop talent and execute a cohesive strategy to create an inclusive culture and build an engaged workforce.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or production environment OR Master's degree with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or production environment; will also consider 9+ years of experience in manufacturing or production in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
1+ year experience managing or leading people or projects
The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as an electrical or test engineer
Experience managing manufacturing assembly and test
Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business
Prior program, project and/or people management, cross-organizational, process improvement experience

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
