Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 3 to lead our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Operations organization. This position will be located in Iuka, MS.
Position Summary / Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for operations execution in the Iuka, MS building 1016. The primary purpose of this position is to lead the manufacturing organization for a program(s). The candidate will be measured on both financial and non-financial indicators directly related to safety, quality, on-time delivery, employee engagement, and cost profitability. The Candidate’s other primary roles include both creation of strategic vision (long-term) and tactical management (short-term) for the assigned programs within Iuka.
- Overall responsibility for execution of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee, and Cost objectives, along with Employee Engagement for a large organizational unit with-in the FCC site
- Strong focus on safe work environment, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement activities
- Optimizes product flow, production rates, and product mix to meet customer demands, improve inventory turns and drive month over month cost improvement
- Responsible for proactive resource management to mitigate production schedule risks
- Support a work environment characterized by employee involvement and participative management to encourage the highest level of employee commitment and cooperation
- Manage site staffing levels to support customer requirements while maintaining efficient operations
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience; Associate’s degree and 9 years of experience; or High School Diploma and 11 years of experience
- 3 years of leadership in a role with direct reports
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP)
- Experience managing multiple programs
- Experience in labor and capacity forecasting
- Proven experience with mid to high-rate production programs
- Strong working knowledge of composites manufacturing processes to include experience manufacturing composite structures
- Demonstrated consistent use of the following competencies: Business acumen, composure, delegating, interpersonal savvy, planning, time management, timely decision making, presentation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment
- Understanding and use of root cause analysis
- Demonstrated success in maximizing resources and throughput
- Demonstrated ability to remove waste from production process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in management or engineering
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Experience in implementing continuous improvement
- Demonstrated use of production control tools (e.g., schedule, MRP, manpower forecasts)
- A demonstrated progressive increase in responsibilities within operations organization

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
