Manufacturing Technician 1/Manufacturing Technician 2
Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1/2 to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Promontory, UT.

Role Description and Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing composite solid fuel rocket motors. Tasks may include but are not limited to Tooling/Assembly/Disassembly, Case Surface Preparation, Final Product Assembly, maintaining cleanliness of work area and facilities, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost, and scheduling of their team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Follows established planning or procedures.
Demonstrated understanding of machine and related motion to evaluate movement, controls, heat/cooling during operation, to form a solid billet.
Sets up and operates press cure equipment – PLC or manual controlled.
Must understand machine fault codes and related mechanical/electrical relationship as it relates to the operation of the machine.
Makes operator-controlled repairs as required.
Works with several types of adhesives and adjoining systems.
Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.
Must be willing to work swing shift on occasion.
Must be willing to perform work on weekends and holidays as required.
Must be willing to work overtime as required.
Basic Qualifications:
This position can be filled at either a level 1 or level 2.
Basic Qualifications for a level 1:
0 to 2 years of manufacturing (product assembly) experience.
Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pull up to 50 lbs.).
Able to read, comprehend and follow established written instructions without deviation.
Perform basic math and measurement functions.
Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Basic Qualifications for a level 2:
2+ years of manufacturing (product assembly) experience.
Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pull up to 50 lbs.).
Able to read, comprehend and follow established written instructions without deviation.
Perform basic math and measurement functions.
Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Operating industrial equipment such as cranes, forklifts, precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
Previous experience working heavy equipment and detailed instruction.
Makes operator-controlled repairs as required.
Additional Requirements:
Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA)

This position’s standard work schedule is a 4/10.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
