Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Description:
Oversees and manages all operational aspects of a (one or more) manufacturing and/or production area(s), responsible for the safety of the employees, delivering quality products on time and within customer cost targets, and continuous improvement. Provides leadership direction of design and process development, production, operations, engineering, test and Quality Assurance functions. Manages and presents status on cost, schedule and performance for all projects within the area; assesses issues and develops mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, and delivery goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directs all aspects and phases of Assembly and Test operations within the Systems or Advanced Electronics Factory.
- Provide leadership in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, AS9100 and all auditable processes.
- Responsible for the Quality, Cost and timely Delivery of Product.
- Manages the Safety and Morale of assigned personnel.
- Identifies process problems and develops solutions.
- Must be able to manage with a focus on reducing costs and increasing efficiency (productivity), while maintaining flexibility (adaptability) to change in meeting business objectives in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates proven skills in implementing change.
- Demonstrates proven skill in leading initiatives and the ability to interface with all levels of management and employees.
- Ensure training (e.g., procedures, quality documents, safety, etc.) is complete and effective
- Monitors and drives adherence to production and O&R schedules.
- Provides schedule performance data/status as requested.
- Directs the work performed by non-exempt Manufacturing Assemblers and Technicians.
- Performs Performance Evaluations and reviews.
The ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with technician staff, support personnel, functional management, and related groups.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of production experience; Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; Associate Degree with 7 years of experience; OR 9 years of experience in lieu of degree with continuous progression.
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Navigation or Inertial Systems product experience.
- Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience interpreting technical products.
- Aerospace and defense product experience.
- Experience in both production assembly, production test, and development work environments.
- Experience in presenting to executive staff and/or leadership.
- Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System.
- Active Clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
