The Supplier Quality Manager of the Launch Vehicles Business Unit in Chandler, AZ is responsible for the overall strategy and management of the supplier quality of the products that are purchased by the Launch Vehicles Business Unit. This leadership role ensures the processes and objectives are established and executed to ensure high quality products are received. This leader is responsible for managing and mentoring the Supplier Quality teams as well as receiving inspection functions to meet business and quality objectives. This leader will work closely with the Supply Chain team in executing a cohesive supplier engagement strategy.
The Supplier Quality Team includes a total of 50 plus direct reports derived of four different supplier engagement and receiving inspection teams. The Manager will be responsible to ensure that we meet all customer quality requirements, including commercial and government contracts. The successful candidate will ensure that all Supplier Quality metrics are measured and monitored and report progress on a monthly basis. These metrics will include items such as Supplier Hardware Acceptance Review statuses, Supplier Product Escapes, First Articles statuses, Drawing reviews/approvals, non conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and performance review management.
This function will also hold the key role to represent Launch Vehicles division in supporting all corporate Supply Chain/Supplier Quality Initiatives. The manager selected will interface with our Supplier Quality Mission Assurance group to ensure that new programs select suppliers balancing past quality data along with company value to meet our company's overall metrics.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 9 years directly related experience with Bachelor’s degree or 7 years with Masters degree
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance
Leadership experience as a Quality Manager or a similar Mission Assurance role
Extensive Root Cause and Corrective Action experience
Experience interfacing with customer, supplier and government agencies
Lean Agile and/or Six Sigma certification and experience
Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality management systems
