There is currently an opening for a Quality Technician 3 or Quality Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position falls under one of Northrop Grumman's Small Business Units, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. and will be located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA
Essential Functions:
Adhere to and support the Quality Management System
Experience handling/cleaning substrates, performing inspection and measurements of optics and other thin film products
Perform testing processes, measurements, and analysis of receiving materials, packaging materials, in-process materials/products, and finished products from suppliers and manufacturing to ensure that quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements are met and tolerance specifications for the chemical, spectral, or physical property are in conformance
Learn and utilize a variety of metrology equipment necessary for testing and inspection of materials and products
Support the maintenance, calibration, and certification of metrology equipment and instruments and ensure compliance
Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports
Reviews production records for conformance to procedures and follows proper documentation processes
Conducts non-conformance tests of materials and manufactured product
Ability to analyze data and create methods to analyze data
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Quality Technician 3: High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of hands-on quality assurance experience in the optical thin-film or similar industry
Quality Technician 4: High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years of hands-on quality assurance experience in the optical thin-film or similar industry
Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and methods
Acute attention to detail
Good math/quantitative skills
Good verbal communication skills
Well versed with computer programs including Excel and Word to collect data and document data/information as well as other equipment computer programs to collect and evaluate operating data
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security clearance
Candidate must be able to work a flexible shift
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with thin film optical materials and thin film characterization techniques
Familiarity with AS9100
Active DoD Security clearance
