Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Driver to support it's organization in Linthicum, MD.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for daily handling of incoming and outgoing mail/parcels. Receive transportation requests from customers and act accordingly. Operates cargo vans/trucks and shuttle busses to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, and personnel between local Northrop Grumman sites and other external locations (Maryland, Northern Virginia, District of Columbia). Help coordinate special events/meetings. Assemble all information to bill customer for services.
WORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:
Perform the duties of Driver and in addition:
• Support daily shuttle services between local Northrop Grumman sites.
• Support VIP/event shuttle services, internal/external customers, political figures and executive management.
• Loads and unloads trucks by hand or by use of mechanical devices such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Pick up/drop off mail from various post offices and distributes between local Northrop Grumman sites.
• Routinely assist with the scheduled events at the Northrop Grumman – Pioneer Hall location (setups & teardown).
• Maintain flexibility in working a demanding schedule to include early morning start times, evening and weekend requirements (as needed).
• Ability to multitask (on short notice) during course of workday (mail, shuttle buses, short notice deliveries).
• Deliver finished printed matter w/occasional setup.
• Paper/supply inventory & delivery to our local teams and copy centers.
• Pickup, staging and shipping of recycled toners from BWI sites.
• Maintaining storage/inventory and movement of materials within the loading dock area.
• Responsible for routine maintenance/coordination of service for company vehicles.
• Pre-trip vehicle inspection/log completion
• Overall operation of ADA compliant vehicles
• Support/Maintain records of daily services provided to support accurate billing to customers for services rendered.
• Assist in the support of large Northrop Grumman VIP/employee and company sponsored charitable events requiring the movement of materials and or personnel
• Must present a neat and orderly appearance at all times. Contact with the public requires diplomacy and courtesy and a respect for the confidentiality of all matters.
• Comply with all applicable state and federal motor vehicle laws and safety regulations. Operate vehicle using appropriate security measures as necessary. Refer unusual situations to supervision.
This is an SEA Union represented position.
This is a 1st Shift position.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Five years driving experience and possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A/B with Passenger endorsement.
