Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a responsible Custodian to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division located at our Magna, UT facility.
The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building cleaning and upkeep. They will have the physical endurance required to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.
Responsibilities:
Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap, sanitary products etc.)
Wipe mirrors and windows
Cleaning entrances, including glass doors and floors
Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Previous custodial experience required
Knowledge of use of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work
Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
Attention to detail and conscientiousness
Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Good physical condition and strength
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
2 years of additional education/experience
Ability to pass the Safe Explosive Act (SEA) background check
