Our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Program Manager for our PORTS program to join our team in Middletown, Rhode Island. The PM will manage projects under our Navy PORTS PC-based Open Architecture Reconfigurable Training Systems contracts. Our PORTS team designs and develops simulation-based training devices/systems for the US Surface Navy to train sailors on the operation and employment of their weapons and sensor systems. PORTS provides Navy personnel with combat systems training using simulation emulating cutting-edge threats in a boundless virtual battlespace. PORTS encompasses: Simulation software development, the latest in training technologies training system modifications, delivery, and lifecycle support. We are looking for a dynamic leader who can contribute to the program, lead teams, manage contracts, ensure the customer is always #1, and drive constant innovation to create, improve, and delivery world class training products.
Program Manger duties and responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage government contracts resulting in the successful delivery of training systems or improvements
- Lead and manage people, and product development
- Lead reviews, provide status of projects and budgets to customers and NG leadership
- Manage finances to achieve customer and company financial goals
- Interface with Navy customers to ensure contract fulfillment in accordance with DoD/Contract requirements.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Identify new business opportunities and participate in proposal activities for new projects
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 experience or a high school diploma / equivalent with 14 years exp may be accepted in Lieu of degree
- 5 years of management experience
- Familiar with Navy Surface warfare readiness Navy systems or other similar experience
- Ability to develop, produce, and present briefings, presentations, and documents to the customers and leadership
- Experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with navy simulation and training systems
- Recent Experienced at or association with Surface Warfare Officers School or Surface Warfare Schools Command or Afloat Training Group or Surface Combat Systems Training Command experience.
- Tactical Action Officer (TAO) qualifications or Surface Warfare Officer (SWO)
- Prior Surface Navy experience with either Aegis, SSDS or LCS combat systems specifically as a Combat Systems Watchstander
- Current Secret clearance
- Previous experience managing software development projects or HW/SW delivery and installation type projects
- Experience managing Government Contracts
- Experience developing small to large proposals for Development or Sustainment type programs.

- DAWIA Program Management Certifications or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
