Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Project Manager to support proposal efforts on a Strike program located in Melbourne, FL. This role requires a candidate with strong skills in communication, organization, change management, and attention to detail.
The successful candidates will coordinate with multiple stakeholders to develop proposal documents, shepherd them through the change management process, ensure staffing and scheduling forecasts are feasible, and present at internal checks and reviews such as NAR/ICE. Working closely with our Proposal Manager, this candidate will handle proposal timelines, prepare briefing material for both customers and leadership, and ensure seamless integration with program execution already underway.
This role is in person supporting 9/80 work schedule at our Melbourne, FL site and requires an active or in scope security clearance to start.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our Proposal Manager, Contracts Manager, Pricing and Estimating, and Business Management teams
- Facilitate weekly heading checks and regular communications to keep all affected parties informed of proposal progress, changes and issues
- Identify and measure progress against proposal milestones
- Report on potential proposal risks and opportunities
- Participate in proposal activities for new projects
- Engage in creating compliant, compelling proposals which clearly and succinctly address the RFP requirements
- Provides upwards reporting for senior management program reviews
- Participates in process improvement initiatives
Basic Qualification for Principal Project Management:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 Years of experience in project management; OR Master's Degree with 3 Years of experience
- Must have experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MSProject)
- Current in scope DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to attain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time deemed by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques, which includes program cost and schedule management.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Experience with BOE.NET or BOE.NEXT
- Experience with creating and delivering presentations.
- Experience leading and/or writing proposal volumes
- Experience in reviewing and auditing BOEs ensuring the SOW is met
- Self-starter; ability to “self-teach” certain things such as calculations/formulas to enable a more efficient process
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to ensure changes to plans are fully understood
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a highly dynamic development environment
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
