Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manager of Project Management 2 based out of the Melbourne, FL location.
Due to the nature of the role, an on-site presence is required and cannot be performed remotely.
The position will follow our 9/80 schedule and allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
As a Manager within the Program Operations group, you will provide inputs for a high performing team and will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the progress of program performance. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success leading projects within cost and schedule requirements of the program. The position requires a solution-based philosophy and the demonstrated ability to develop practical execution plans in a dynamic and complex environment. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, collaboration, and implementation of a strong operational program foundation with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. Strong leadership characteristics are essential as this role drives strategies to meet or exceed cost, schedule and performance objectives.
This position requires a candidate with strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of continuous change. This position requires the ability to report at the Director level including status for Program Integration planning and execution tasks, inputs into recurring Business Unit reporting, and support of EVMS for Program Integration. Collaboration with program and functional leaders to develop and nurture a highly competent and engaged team that delivers on commitments and embodies “best culture” is essential.
A successful candidate in this role will be interested/energized by and able to:
- Navigate ambiguity and develop a systemic approach and strategy to address and solve problems
- Build relationships and effectively listen and communicate to influence, and ensure accountability across a network of stakeholders
- Analyze and make recommendations around business challenges based on data
- Engage with all employees up through executive leaders to understand requirements and expectations, and inspire a retentive team culture
- Attend and/or lead program meetings and provide status including presenting operations status to site leadership
- Define, adjust, and hold leaders accountable to the organizational operating rhythm
- Oversee execution of key strategic projects and deliverables; engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure success - establishing needed partnerships, developing program plans, and driving accountability for performance
- Ensure consistency and clarity in program processes and procedures.
- Integrate metrics, develop and refine dashboards
- Measure and report program performance
- Deliver presentations to customers, executive leadership and other program stakeholders
- Identify, allocate and manage program resources, including workforce planning
- Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules
- Demonstrated experience in applying the following principles:
- Business Acumen: The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance
- Issue & Problem Resolution: The ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the program.
- Planning, Scheduling & Earned Value: The ability to initiate, develop, integrate, execute, direct and control program plans and cost and schedule baselines that meet both program contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years, or master’s and 6 years’ experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries
- 3 years of experience in a Program Management or Program Integration role
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret Clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD Top Secret Clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
