Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Technical Services Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals driving high quality program execution through their direct support and performance as a member of Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE). This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
Due to the nature of the role, an on-site presence is required and cannot be performed remotely. The position will follow our 9/80 schedule and allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This is an individual contributor, non-manager role with no direct reports.
This position will functionally report to the Program Operations team and deploy to the Digital Engineering Ecosystem.
The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers in high-tempo environments. This role will actively work the Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) team and Program leadership to integrate, control, and manage program requirements to ensure success of a restricted program. You will integrate the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between program management, program integration and project teams. This position will be expected to assist the program with reviewing status of projects and budgets, resource planning, preparing for and facilitating meetings, and supporting various administrative functions tied to the DEE business rhythm. They should be comfortable with applying analytical reasoning skills, identifying continuous improvement opportunities in DEE operations, dealing effectively with change and being a flexible team member, and possess solid organizational abilities.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
Problem solving while working on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior.
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and effect the image of the organization technological capability.
Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
Support the Digital Engineering Ecosystem team and Leadership to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations
Collaborate across Functions to ensure all objectives are met
Assist with monitoring progress, assessing project issues and driving actions to closure to meet program goals and objectives
Data synthesis, aggregation, analysis, and communication
Organize knowledge sharing, assist with improvements to within the DEE
Proactively manage strategic rhythm of the organization to ensure preparedness for program and customer deadlines
Project and control account management
Review change board packages and assess for potential impacts
Assist in development of program metrics and coordinate with Tableau and Atlassian Tool Suite administrators to build products for the program
Basic Qualifications for Staff Technical Services Project Management:
Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 12 years of experience OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience OR a Doctorate in a STEM discipline and 8 years of experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
At least 2 years’ experience in Data Analytics, Scripting, Long lead tools, Performance dashboards and Atlassian tools
At least 2 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
Leadership experience with demonstrated proficiency in technical expertise with leading projects or program management
Experience with digital ecosystem architectures
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret Clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience writing data conversions
Experience building Tableau views
Prior CAM experience
Experience with Supplier Management
Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to excel when information is ambiguous or sparse
Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data
Possess the ability to communicate with internal and external customers, leaders, and development teams
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
