Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Propellant Manager 3 to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Promontory UT.

Role Description and Responsibilities:
Individual will manage team of propellant developers and aging and surveillance experts with expertise in chemistry, material science, physics, mechanical and/or chemical engineering directed to support propellant, liner and insulation needs of various programs.
Facilitate research activities directed towards new propellants outside of traditional product lines.
Management activities will include coordination and monitoring of employees’ workloads, employee development, employee hiring, coordination with outside organizations, maintaining overhead budgets, and developing and executing department initiatives.
Work activities will also include individual technical efforts as required to meet budget and schedule constraints.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a BS in a classical Engineering disciple or related closely field required
BS degree with 8 years’ experience, or MS degree with 6 years’ experience
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years in energetic product design and/or manufacture experience.
5 years or greater experience in applying expertise to support materials application for energetic system applications and related assets needs.
Supervisory: Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of formal or informal supervisory/ management/ team management/ leadership experience.
Strong understanding of propellant formulation and PLI systems for energetic and/or solid rocket motor system design, development, and manufacture.
Experience writing proposals, detailed test plans and data reports.
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory: Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of formal or informal supervisory/ management/ team management/ leadership experience.
Extensive understanding of propellant formulation and PLI systems for energetic and/or solid rocket motor system design, development, and manufacture.
Extensive understanding and broad application of PS engineering systems (CM, drawings, MRB, SPC, tooling, facilities, etc.)
Experience in managing projects or programs using Propulsion Systems tools.
Experience in generating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for new work scope
Additional Requirements:
Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA)

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
