Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of C-27J Spartan Airlifter aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force’s existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies to support Humanitarian Disaster Relief and crisis response in Australia and nearby regions.

About the Role
As a Training and Development Specialist, you will play a key role in developing, delivering, and evaluating C-27J training programs, ensuring they meet the highest technical and compliance standards. Your expertise will help maintain and enhance the C-27J Fuselage Trainer (FuT), ensuring it remains fully operational for hands-on technical training. You will also provide backup Technical Instructor support, ensuring training continuity for ADF personnel and internal teams.
This role offers the perfect blend of technical involvement and instructional leadership, allowing you to stay connected to aircraft systems while mentoring and developing future technicians.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced aviation professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge and helping others succeed. You’re approachable, a natural problem-solver, and eager to make a difference in aviation training.
To be successful, you’ll need:
✔ Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
✔ Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent aircraft maintenance qualifications
✔ Ideally you will have experience working on the C27-J or C1-30 platform but this is not compulsory
✔ Previous training experience (preferred but not essential) – we welcome Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who want to step into a training role!
