Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Sr. Principal/Staff Engineer Planning Analyst – Hardware Acquisition Services Operations Lead within the Hardware Acquisition Services team in support of the Mechanical Ground Systems Engineering team. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA at Space Park.
Hardware Acquisition Services Operations Lead is responsible for the following (but not limited to):
- Manages the day-to-day activities and assess processes to streamline overall operations.
- Determine, monitor and review work authorization requests (costs, operational budgets and schedules and manpower requirements).
- Analyzes and interprets technical drawings and details of work authorization requests to determine the most practical and cost-efficient procurement method.
- Facilitates the procurement, fabrication, testing and services activities.
- Interfaces with global supply chain and operations disciplines related to all procurement activities.
- Facilitates in-house Quality Assurance (QA) test and inspection.
- Facilitates the logistics for hardware delivery and hardware deployment activities.
- Formulates and recommends action plans for fabrication activities, schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.
- Interface with various disciplines in the organization such as Manufacturing Shops, Global Supply Chain, etc.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Engineer Planning Analyst: 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
Staff Engineer Planning Analyst: 12+ Years with Bachelors; 10+ Years with Masters; 8+ Years with PhD.
- Experience must be within the Aerospace or Defense Industry, or within Project Management or Global Supply Chain Management
- Experience in managing multiple projects
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio)
Preferred Qualifications:
- General understanding of Integration and Test operations
- Experience leading teams and overseeing multiple projects
- Experience with creating and executing to a project plan
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access
