Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Configuration Data Management (CDM) Organization with the Systems Engineering Directorate for the Autonomous Design Center of Excellence. This position supports the Fire Scout program. Individual selected for this position will be located in San Diego, CA and be responsible for supporting Configuration Data Management and Change Integration activity across all IPTs (Integrated Program Teams).
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of change management and configuration /data management principles and shall be proficient in the use of the company standard configuration management tool(s), such as Teamcenter Enterprise and Change Tracker maintaining configuration changes to the baseline. Candidate may also support Change Integration facilitating Program Change Boards. Host various change boards, reviews CRs for boards proposed by engineering, and provide metrics on CDM activities. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Plans change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Coordinates modification records for management control.
PRIMARY TASKS
Serve as the focal point for control, storage, retrieval, and delivery of all CDM data
Control engineering, drawings, software and document releases, including plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation to ensure requirements are met
Control change requests for configuration items. Administer change configuration review boards.
Track and close changes and action items
Process and track program contract and supplier deliverables
Maintain the CDM Libraries and baselines
Interact/collaborate frequently with data originators, program managers, and customer representatives concerning project deliverables and deliverable data scheduling requirements
Plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering documentation and drawings, subcontractor specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
Review contract requirements to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
Coordinate modification records for management control.
Establish change orders and prepare for change authorization and documentation by internal organizations and subcontractors.
Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
Perform baseline (product) management, hardware release and replication management, configuration item identification, software build releases, and configuration audits
Control configuration items, product traceability matrices, documents, and software media, CM records, and software libraries
Perform change management and status identification
Manage/coordinate program strategic tasking related to Configuration Data Management and track work status/metrics in support of team activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of Configuration Management experience or 8 years of experience with a Master's degree.
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance is required for this position
- Knowledge of software/hardware configuration principles and records management
- Experience with Change Management Data Management principles/processes
- Knowledge of Document and drawing lifecycle
- Experience in the use of configuration management tools such as CPLM/TeamCenter
- Self-motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading a CM team for program with multiple task orders/CLINs
- Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office applications.
- Direct CDM Domain Experience
- Experience with Government Contracting, especially with respect to the Engineering Change Proposal process
- CCB, TRB or JCCB Experience
- Experience with Configuration Status Accounting and Configuration Verification Audits
- Knowledge of NGAS Company, and CDM Industry Standards, including ASME Y14, MIL-HDBK-61, SAE GEIA-859 and SAE EIA-649.
- Familiar with NGC CDM Engineering and Production tools, including TeamCenter, SharePoint, and SAP/MES
