The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Metrology Manager 1 position located at our Linthicum, MD facility.
Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly. The candidate must be a strong team participant, have excellent communication skills, and be resourceful and multi-talented. A strong understanding of semiconductor technology, direct process development experience and production experience is essential. Experience coordinating or leading strategic capital acquisitions and facility expansion activities are highly desired in order to support our growth roadmap. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership characteristics, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. In this blended role, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and rewarding innovative behaviors in the staff.
The Metrology Manager 1 will be responsible for management activities and general technical activities supporting the various technologies at ATL. They will also be directing development activities and production support for Metrology activities at ATL.
In addition, this individual will be responsible for staffing, employee tasking, project management, budget oversight, and program /engineering interface activities. Functional duties include hiring, on-boarding, personnel performance assessments, time charging approval, and employee development.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related technical area and 5 years of relevant experience; Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related technical area with 3 years of relevant experience; or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related technical area and 0+ years.
Experience leading teams, mentorship, and managing projects
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Continuous Improvement Methodology, and Design of Experiments
Experience in various statistical analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, etc.)
Ability and desire to assume a technical leadership role within the organization.
US Citizenship Required
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is required
The ability to obtain and maintain SAP is required.
Ability to work a 5x8 or 9/80B schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related technical area
Experience or working knowledge of Metrology tools & principles for semiconductor fabrication
Experience utilizing KLA, AMAT, Rigaku, Hitachi metrology equipment and coordinating with said vendors
Experience or working knowledge of visual inspection techniques, tools, & principles
Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions
Knowledge of capital equipment purchasing
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
