Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems – Propulsion Division is seeking an Electrical Drafter 1/2 to join our team. This position will be located at our location in Bacchus (West Valley), UT.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for the concept and layout of construction and fabrication drawings per Electrical Engineer’s requirements. Preparing working drawings for construction and as-built drawings using AutoCAD by Autodesk to include but not limited to:
P&ID’s, conduit and lighting layouts, schematic and wiring (interconnection) diagrams, instrumentation loop sheets, conduit, grounding, and lightning protection plans.
Create proper annotation and dimensioning in drawings and models.
Capable of reading and understanding blueprints from outside engineering firms and vendors.
Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.
Ensure construction documents accuracy and clarity, including checking for drawing completeness before issuing and follow up to ensure that drawings were received and are satisfactory.
Work closely with Engineers to create final drawings.
Review engineering drawings and designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and constructability.
Support continuous improvement.
Support Operations and Process Engineering.
Have working knowledge of AutoCAD and Raster design by Autodesk, ANSI/ISA and the NEC.
Education/Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
Position may be filled at higher level requiring:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Electrician or electrical experience.
Desire, i.e. passion, to generate complete and accurate drawings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
Leadership ability.
Technical attention to detail.
Windows Office Suite to include Teams.
