Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Production Planner 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Responsibilities include Tracking daily costs, Administering EVM (earned value management) activities, Maintaining visibility charts, and Providing weekly and monthly status reports. The role entails closing and documenting tool orders for El Segundo tooling, overseeing the validation of incoming materials against the bill of material, and developing internal tooling packages. Additionally, the candidate will liaise with support organizations to negotiate schedules with Production, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering. Duties encompass ordering and recording chemical usage, ensuring proper inventory within the NGC Chemical Tracking system, and managing tool control and accountability activities, including daily inventory, audits, property, and asset management. The candidate may also handle other manufacturing and assembly tooling-related duties as required. The candidate will be responsible for technical administrative tasks including but not limited to certification compliance, staff meetings, team engagement support, onboarding, concur travel support, and safety focal tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to interface with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have the ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree and 3 years of planning/scheduling, process development, quality, or production experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
- Experience creating work instructions and visual aids
- Experience creating procedures or process manuals
- Experience reading and interpreting 3D models and Engineering drawings/blueprints
- Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
- Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment
- Secret or Top Secret clearance and SAP preferred
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
