Space Systems is searching for an experienced Manager, Programs 1 to join the Launch Vehicles business unit with the Program Engineering Management team to support the Sentinel Program in Chandler, AZ.
The Manager, Programs 1 will direct all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
The Sentinel Manager Programs 1 will serve as a member of the LV Sentinel program office and, under direction of the Program Manager, facilitate program execution activities. This includes, but is not limited to:
Focal for facilitating and coordinating program briefings. This includes high-visibility communications with internal customers (LVBU, LMDS and SDS executive management) as well as external customers (Air Force)
LV Sentinel program office lead in one or more key areas including configuration control, hardware deliveries, business development capture, ROM and proposal development.
Collect and organize program office action items and deliverables. Facilitate driving these to timely closure per program schedule needs
Oversee and manage program personnel onboarding.
Identification, development and implementation of tools and processes that streamline program activities
Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing program office projects
This position is 100% on-site in Chandler, AZ..
Travel is required no more than 20% of the time
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 years of experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or program management in other industries
Minimum 2 years of experience presenting to senior leadership and customer community
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially proficient in PowerPoint
Experience in development of software/tools that allow for ease of data access and analysis.
Experience in launch vehicle development and delivery
